Meet Boston Maritime Investigator Danny Alberto

Danny Alberto is the investigator for the law firm of Latti & Anderson LLP. A member of the New Bedford High School graduating class of 2001, he has been a resident of the city his entire life. After graduating from high school, Danny attended Johnson & Wales University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice along with a concentration in psychology. In college, Danny became a member of the Rhode Island Young Investigator’s Coalition. This experience taught him firsthand what it is like to be on the street talking and dealing with people from all walks of life as well as building cases from the ground up.

Upon graduation from college, Danny began working for the major crimes division of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. In this role, he worked alongside assistant district attorneys as well as state and local police in preparing cases, witnesses and families for trials involving all major crimes prosecuted in the superior court. Danny’s downtown New Bedford office made him proud to be making a difference in the city that gave him so much.

After two years of public service with the District Attorney’s Office, Danny was asked to take a position with a private insurance investigations company. In this role, he received training and certification in the fields of insurance fraud investigations and accident reconstructions. Danny worked closely with insurance adjusters and learned the inner workings of the industry.

Danny’s knowledge and passion for the fishing industry is something that comes from birth, and the opportunity he has today to assist fishermen and other marine workers is a responsibility he is honored to have. Danny came from a traditional Portuguese family and was the first person from his family to be born in the United States. Both of Danny’s grandfathers as well as his father were fishermen in New Bedford and Portugal. Danny spent many summers on the waterfront and understands what it is like to be part of the local fishing community. Although he has never made a fishing trip, Danny understands the difficulty the job entails and the sacrifices that these fishermen and their families make. These aspects of maritime law are something that is very personal to Danny.

The opportunity that Danny has today to be able to help the people who have influenced his life as the investigator for the Boston maritime attorneys at Latti & Anderson LLP is one that he feels honored to have and takes very seriously.
