Latti & Anderson Helps the Working Waterfront Festival Celebrate 10 Years

Latti & Anderson LLP will be sponsoring two contests at the Massachusetts Working Waterfront Festival this year as the festival celebrates its ten-year anniversary September 28 and 29. Our maritime law firm will be sponsoring the net mending contest on September 28 and the scallop shucking contest September 29. Both contests start at noon and will be offering cash prizes for first through third place.

The Working Waterfront Festival is a New Bedford tradition that celebrates the commercial fishing industry of the region. Representatives from all aspects of the fishing industry, including arts, culture, entertainment, transportation and tourism, will be at the event to share their experiences and teach locals about the fishing community. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the festival will be focusing on reflecting on the past ten years and themes of the fishing industry and how the industry has changed.

The festival will include cooking demonstrations, food from vendors around the area, a Seafood Throwdown that will feature two chefs competing to create a winning seafood dish, a farmer’s market, model boat show, vessel tours and plenty of make and take art activities for kids.

New Bedford is the largest fishing port in the U.S. and its fishing industry makes up a third of the city’s economy. Latti & Anderson LLP is a proud sponsor of the event and will have a booth both days of the festival. Stop by to meet us and chat or take a complementary mug, in addition, all fishermen will receive a free scallop knife.
