Wheelhouse Technology from Sounding Leads to Satellites

New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center’s Wheelhouse Technology from Sounding Leads to Satellites Exhibit
June 13, 2019

Latti and Anderson LLP, suggests you set your GPS for 38 Bethel Street New Bedford this Thursday, June 13 at 7 pm for the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center’s Wheelhouse Technology from Sounding Leads to Satellites Exhibit. This Exhibit is a salute to the newest evolutions in technology that have been put in place on most commercial fishing vessels to locate and monitor from and safety and enforcement basis by Coast Guard officials.  Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) replace the older and more competitive based methods of protecting one’s personal fishing grounds from other boats.  Latti and Anderson LLP recognizes that in this new environment where no boat can hide the Coast Guard is putting personal safety at the forefront of commercial fishing.  No longer will a boat’s location be unknown or speculated about during times of crisis and safety intervention.

This FREE event will showcase many of the relics of the past that pertain to sonar and radar systems evolution as supplied by Chris Electronics and the School for Marine Science and Technology.  Latti and Anderson LLP commend the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center for highlighting the improvements that have been made in Safety and Surveillance which allow for no boat to go lost and not found.  With global weather conditions becoming more and more severe and unpredictable it is a comfort to families and fisherman to have the “eye in the sky” protection of the AIS to make sure they find their way back to port.  Please join your support with Latti and Anderson LLP and make June 13 at 7 pm your day to be found at the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center at 38 Bethel Street, www.fishingheritagecenter.org
