Calif. Man Killed in Labor Day Weekend Boat Accident

According to ABC News, a California man was killed over Labor Day weekend in a recreational boat accident off the coast of Catalina Island.

The man was identified as the son of a former San Francisco 49ers executive. The victim was reportedly on a dinghy that was carrying five people when it collided with another vessel near Descanso Bay at about 1:20 a.m., on September 6.

In addition to the man, three people were injured in the boat accident and one person went missing. A helicopter crew from the Los Angeles County Fire Department transported injury victims to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. One of the victims reportedly suffered a serious head injury.

As of last week, the U.S. Coast Guard was assisting with finding the passenger who went missing. The accident remains under investigation. It is unclear if alcohol played a role in the collision. It is very important for victims of boating accidents to retain attorneys to protect their interests in the investigations that are occurring.  More importantly, to make sure all evidence is preserved.
